Manhattan and The Bronx, New York
New York Adventure: Exploring Manhattan, Yankee Stadium, and Little Italy
New York City is a bucket-list destination, packed with iconic landmarks, world-class dining, and endless energy. On our latest trip, we stayed in the heart of Manhattan, toured Yankee Stadium, and indulged in authentic Italian cuisine in not one but two Little Italys—one in the Bronx and one in Manhattan.
Staying in Manhattan: The Perfect Base
Manhattan is the ideal place to stay for a New York adventure. With countless hotels to choose from, we picked a spot in Midtown, making it easy to explore the city. From here, we had quick access to Times Square, Central Park, and the subway to head uptown to Yankee Stadium or the Bronx’s Little Italy. Whether you’re into luxury stays like The Plaza or boutique hotels with a local feel, Manhattan has accommodations for every traveler.
Yankee Stadium: A Must-See for Baseball Fans
No trip to New York is complete without experiencing the legendary Yankee Stadium. Whether you're a die-hard Yankees fan or just love sports history, the stadium tour is a must. We got to walk through Monument Park, visit the Yankees Museum, and even step onto the field. If you're lucky enough to catch a game, the atmosphere is electric—grab a classic hot dog and enjoy the action!
Little Italy in the Bronx: A Hidden Gem
After Yankee Stadium, we made our way to Arthur Avenue, the Bronx’s Little Italy. Often overshadowed by its Manhattan counterpart, this neighborhood is an authentic slice of Italy. We explored old-school bakeries, Italian delis, and family-run trattorias. A stop at Dominick’s for a plate of homemade pasta and a visit to Madonia Bakery for fresh cannoli made this one of the most delicious parts of our trip.
Manhattan’s Little Italy: Classic NYC Vibes
Later in our trip, we visited the famous Little Italy in Lower Manhattan. Though smaller than it once was, it still offers a nostalgic charm with classic red-and-white-checkered tablecloth restaurants and historic shops. We had dinner at one of the iconic Italian spots along Mulberry Street and finished the night with a cappuccino and dessert from Ferrara Bakery—an NYC staple since 1892.
Tips for Your NYC Visit
Book a Yankee Stadium tour in advance, especially during baseball season.
Take the subway—it’s the fastest way to get from Manhattan to the Bronx.
Come hungry—both Little Italys have incredible food, so pace yourself to try as much as possible.
Explore beyond the tourist spots—while Times Square is iconic, NYC’s real magic is in its neighborhoods.
Final Thoughts
New York City never disappoints, and this trip gave us a mix of sports, culture, and incredible food. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, there’s always something new to discover in the Big Apple.
